"Plastic in dessert"

I visited with my daughter for an afternoon tea as part of her birthday treat, upon arrival after a short wait we were met by a very friendly and accommodating staff member who showed us to our table.
The member of staff bought water to the table and took a drinks order and a little while later the afternoon tea arrived, the member of staff clearly explained to us what each of the sandwiches, desserts etc were and we started to eat. After eating the sandwiches/rolls, scones and some of the desserts we then started to eat the chocolate and caramel dessert in a miniature cup, it was then to my daughters horror that she came across a thin piece of plastic in the middle a couple of inches in diameter, as I understand it these desserts are bought in frozen and then assembled depending on the type of dessert in whatever order required and these sheets of plastic are to clearly separate each component and removed,this was obviously overlooked by the staff assembling the dessert, after this we noticed that the teacup which we hadn’t used had a ring of dirt around the rim, both these issues were pointed out to a member of staff who was most apologetic and offered us another cocktail free of charge.
Just to conclude, apart from the issues the afternoon tea was really nice and also plentiful it was just a shame that the issues arose, and it isn’t really the standard that I would normally expect from such a reputable place.
