The Bell Inn Hotel, Stilton

"Waited 45 minutes and nobody even took our order"

Restaurant was very busy when we arrived. Table booked for 7pm and we were seated at that time. However nobody came to take our order. After waiting 10 minutes, I managed to get the attention of a staff member and asked if we could order, only to be told 'I'm not on orders today, I'll get someone for you." 15 minutes later, when nobody came, I went and found a member of staff and was told "We've just got to take the order of one more table that arrived before you first". Fifteen minutes after that, still nobody had come to take our order or even acknowledged us, and I saw a staff member go to a table of people who had been seated well after us and take their order. At that point I stood up, walked out in disgust and went to Angel Spice Curry House across the road where I was acknowledged within 2 seconds of walking in the door, had my order taken a minute later and was eating within 10 minutes of arriving. Service at The Bell on a Friday evening is a disgrace in comparison.
