"Enchanting Hotel"

We stayed here for my Husband’s birthday, met up with his brother for lunch in the bistro cafe which was quaint and food/service was excellent. After lunch we went to reception where we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who then proceeded to take times for our morning breakfast and evening meal, our room was 21 and we were delighted, the bathroom was very small but adequate, we had two chairs in the window so we could sit and talk instead of having to sit on the bed. It is a beautiful building and very charming, you do have creaking floors but you expect this in such an old building. In the morning we had a full English breakfast which was cooked fresh and when arrived it was piping hot, the staff were very friendly and efficient again and asked what we had planned for our day. On the evening we went down for our meal, there were happy birthday sprinkles on the table which just added that extra nice touch. Our waiter was a very young man who was really friendly and polite, he obviously enjoyed working there, we both ordered the ribeye steak which was cooked to perfection and piping hot, for dessert I had the pistachio ice cream and my husband had the cinder toffee chocolate sundae which again was all very nice. My husband didn’t pay for his meal due to it being his birthday, what a truly wonderful treat from this family run company. We’ve recommended this hotel to our family and friends for its charming appearance and hospitality, we will definitely be returning.
