"Shepherd’s Pie"

Unfortunately the shepherd’s pie I ordered was almost inedible. I did eat it as I was very hungry, but as I mentioned to the waitress, I also ate it out of politeness and did not complain at the time as I was eating lunch with a recently widowed friend and did not wish to draw focus away from the reason for our meal.
The thin layer of meat topped with potato was disappointing, and firmly dried to the base and sides of the dish, which was extremely hot. It was obvious that the meal had been prepared and pre-cooked as a finished item, chilled then re-heated / almost cremated in a very hot oven. Even the potato was thoroughly dried out. I am surprised that such a simple dish could not be created from meat and mash upon receipt of the order.
Actually in retrospect, and having discussed the disappointing meal with my husband, on his suggestion I would like to request a refund of the price of the meal plus the additional service charge.
