"Poor afternoon tea"

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the afternoon tea we booked. Our friend had rung to ask for one of the ‘teas’ to be a savory option which was said yes too. When we arrived the setting is lovely and the cups and saucers lovely. The 3 tear tray arrived the size of a side plate for three people. I thought that would feed 1 person. Small selection of 3 finger sandwiches and a large scone which was nice but we had to ask for more jam and cream initial size was really per person.
Unfortunately our friend did not get her savory option there was no record of it so they gave some cheese and biscuits.
The cake section was really the main issue and let the visit down. One small macroon each and a tiny triangle slice of lemon tart which was floppy and I’d imagine to have been frozen. The one piece of cake was a thing rectangle slice of we thing carrot but not sure.
This was for our friends 60th birthday and I really like the golden lion but that was poor.
