"Disappointing overall"

The food was just ok really. The sandwiches and scones were fine, the cakes I think are bought in, not freshly made, as they felt a bit processed but they weren't bad. The service I'm afraid was awful - we waited an hour for food that had been pre ordered, we weren't asked whether we needed more drinks anywhere near as often as you should be and when they did come they would ask a couple of us and then disappear, despite others at the table wanting to order. We were particularly disappointed not to be given a table in the part of the restaurant we asked for, with no explanation, particularly as that area remained empty while we were there.
