"Not enough staff"

My 95 year old mother wanted to take the family out for Sunday lunch while her Great Grandson was home from uni. The seven of us, 4 generations, booked a table for 2 o’clock. All went well, the table was reserved, drinks were ordered and received and we ordered our main meal which arrived at 2:45. There was a long delay in clearing the finished plates, and we waited for the desert menu. At 3:45 when we were waiting for someone to take our order, we were told that the kitchen was closed, the chef was far to busy and we couldn’t have a pudding! What rubbish, there was hardly anyone left in the restaurant. When my husband asked to speak to the manager, he was told he was too busy in the kitchen to talk to us. We were later told that we could have a pudding if we waited half an hour!
