"Tasty food but a few problems…"

We went for Sunday lunch with friends and agreed the food was well cooked and had good flavours but… We had to wait c1 hour after ordering and it was barely warm. I suspect there were issues in the kitchen and given I work in hospitality myself do feel sympathetic but there are ways to help keep customers- keep us updated if it’s going to take longer than might reasonably be expected, proactively apologise for delays, offer a drink on the house. Don’t just ignore us and hope we won’t notice or say anything.
Unfortunately, we kept getting a whiff of a smell from the drains where sitting which certainly didn’t help matters.
