"Disappointing visit to the Tudor"

We decided to come to the Tudor for a birthday celebration lunch as we had been before and had a good meal and good service. However, this time was completely different. We placed our order and the food took almost an hour to arrive. We had to go and speak to a member of staff who said she would go and tell the kitchen off for being so slow. When the food arrived it was not of the same standard we had before. A roast of the day had two potatoes, half a carrot, one piece of parsnip and some overcooked broccoli. The chicken was ok. Last time the gravy was served separately in a gravy boat but this time it was just poured over the food. The children’s chicken goujons were very spicy - not as advertised, so my daughter could not eat them. My son’s burger was undercooked - in fact we were expecting him to be unwell due to this. My fish was nice, however it was advertised as being served with seasonal vegetables but just had some salad on top. Bearing in mind that the waitress knew we had waited far too long for the food to come out, no one came to ask how the meals were and then we sat and waited afterwards and our plates weren’t collected so we got up and paid at the till and left. This is a real shame as it is such a lovely hotel but we won’t be returning.
