The Tudor House Hotel, Tewkesbury

"Wonderful food, terrible service."

We chose here as it was for a special occasion and we hadn’t eaten here before. The menu was missing quite a few items which was disappointing but as they explained they had been busy. The food that we ordered was really lovely we had mains and a dessert we didn’t order wine as we asked for the wine list but nobody came back to us so we ending up making journeys to the bar as it was a warm evening. The restaurant and bar were not that busy considering it was a Saturday and the staff were stood chatting to each other which is fine if they are not neglecting the customers. We were not asked about desserts and when I went to get another drink from the bar I took menus up for our table and the two other tables left. The general manager was, in my opinion unprofessional and slightly unpleasant when another table apologised to him for asking that a customer at the bar who had his phone on loud speaker was asked to turn it down. We paid and left but were not acknowledged on leaving by anyone, despite a number of staff being stood at the bar that we had to pass on our way out! I wouldn’t go again personally based on the service we received which is a shame as the food was very good.
