The Golden Fleece Hotel, Thirsk

"A nice hotel, friendly staff, great evening meal"

The hotel is perfectly placed for a tour of Thirsk and surrounding areas. We were in a room in an offshoot of the hotel they call the ‘mews’ smaller than the normal rooms and a little bit dated- the bathroom door needs replacing. That said, the room for comfortable, the bed was comfortable with the same quality bedding I’ve come to expect from coachinginngroup. No complaints.
We booked an evening meal on Easter Sunday and it was fabulous, well portioned and cooked beautifully- can’t say the same about breakfast. My eggs were literally swimming in hollandaise, the muffin was soggy as a result - not nice. My husband had the full English and there were no complaints there. Overall, a very pleasant stay.
