"Disappointing second visit"

We visited a few months ago and had a lovely lunch . We rebooked for a birthday celebration this time . On arrival we were told our table was booked in the bar and we were left wandering around looking for it . Eventually we asked and were directed to a corner table barely big enough . It was not set up for us and I had to find an extra chair . We ordered drinks and a very unfriendly member of staff came and set up our table and took our order . On arrival of our food we had to ask for condiments and the extra sides barely sat on the table . The food was disappointing . The roast beef was very fatty and the soggy greens with my pie barely there. My friend asked for extra gravy which appeared to be a huge inconvenience. After eating we had to wait for 20 minutes with a table full of dirty plates before one of our party went to ask for service to clear and order coffee. Eventually we received the bill and told by the unfriendly member of staff about the added service charge which I was not going to pay but was overruled . We meet regularly as a group but the golden fleece will not be our next choice ☹️
