The Golden Fleece Hotel, Thirsk

"Sunday Lunch "

We decided to come for a ride out to the Golden Fleece as we had stopped for coffee and cake before and thought that the hotel looked lovely.
The restaurant is a lovely setting.
Sadly the food we did not feel was the best.
The vegetables resembled baby food. Over cooked and mushy unfortunately. No greens which is something expected with a Sunfay lunch.
The beef my husband had was overcooked and the belly pork I had one slice was lovely the other dry with a woody texture.
I found some hard bits in my Yorkshire pudding .
The gravy was delicious!
The service and staff were all very helpful and lovely.
Sadly we won't return for food again.
