"Shabby Room"

We were put in an annex in the car park so not a great start as I thought we would be staying in the pub itself and this wasn't made clear at the time of booking. The room had clearly not been updated in some considerable time. There was a roller blind at the window with no cord so we had to hand roll it up. There had obviously been two types of window dressing there previously as the tracks were still there. The wardrobe only had one sliding door - no idea what had happened to the other one but we still couldn't slide it as the coat hangers stuck out too far. The bedside lights and one above the dressing table only had one control switch at one side of the bed so you couldn't switch them on independently. There was only one double socket in whole room, above the dressing table. This had to service the tv, kettle, coffee maker, hairdryer, phone charger. The bedhead had clearly come off the wall at some point and had been moved as the original holes were still in the walls. The bathroom sink was ridiculously close to the toilet and the mirror was rusting around the edges. The plywood on the bottom of the bathroom door was beginning to peel away. Overall the bedroom and bathroom looked like they hadn't been updated for some considerable years. However, the main building, dining room etc were lovely and what we were expecting the bedrooms to look and feel like and our breakfasts and the one evening meal we had were great.
