You have to visit/stay at the Golden Fleece in Thirsk. It is a revamped Coaching Inn that holds some of its historical charm along with comfort, great service and really good food. The restaurant has a good choice of meals which were cooked perfectly and served with a smile by the attentive staff. It's a long way from home but if we're up that way again we'll stay there again. The quaint market square and shops also add to the charm of the stay.
