"Warm and welcoming "

Spent three nights DBB here. First visit and happpy to return. Spacious room well maintained. No aircon but sash window opens and fan in the cupboard should you need one.Roberts Radio and nespresso machine a nice touch. The only issue with the bedroom is that the bedside lights don’t serve any useful purpose. They are more uplighters with a bulb that gives a rusty glow and no use to read in bed by. They need replacing. The bathroom is ultra modern and lovely H2K toiletries. You can purchase them at reception to take home. You need to run the tap for a very long time to get Luke warm water. Don’t bother with a bath as it will take hours to fill. The shower is very good and lovely white towels to use. The dining room is light and comfortable and food is mostly good.In particular breakfast, super eggs Benedict or my preferred smashed avocado on sourdough. Varied evening menu and our favourite was the roast chicken in a veloute thyme sauce. Avoid the sea bass with Penne!.
The staff here are lovely under the leadership of General Manager Amy. She mucks in everywhere and is always available to help with any queries. This hotel is part of the coaching inn group and we are already planning to visit other hotels in the group.
