The Crown Hotel, Boroughbridge

"Very disappointed "

Second time we have been to the crown since it was taken over, we were there for Dinner on Sunday, it was fairly busy, however the service was a shambles. Obviously under staffed, we waited 15 minutes before we got a menu.. one menu between two!! Had to ask for a wine list!!. Then had to ask 3 times for the glass of wine I had ordered. So slow taking our order, and a long wait before the food arrived, mains arrived then another long wait before the veg arrived.
I think the biggest problem is the staff, they were obviously new but woefully lacking in customer service, felt as if they were doing us a favour, not what you expect for the prices you charge. Won’t be dining there again, we were not the only people saying the same thing, the table next to us with young children said the same thing, as did another friend who was dining there.
A real pity because the refurbish is lovely, you really need to up your game.
The food was ok, very over overpriced, and the dining room was inundated with flies, batting them away as you were eating… not good
