The Swan Hotel, Stafford

"A very tasty Sunday lunch"

We had been recommended to try the Swan for Sunday lunch and the food certainly did not disappoint. We arrived early and were told our table was not ready so made our way to the bar but then Christian came to find us as the table was ready. It was quite busy so there were delays in between the drinks order being taken and the drinks arriving and we did have to wait a while for the food but it has to be said that it was worth the wait. The cauliflower cheese was a very pleasant surprise as, so often, it is on the ‘sides’ menu. We had no room left for desserts but both agreed the cappuccinos we had were very, very good indeed. When tables around us were being relaid, it was pleasing to see a member of staff rejecting glasses that did not look spotlessly clean and fetching replacements. It is good to see high standards like this.
