The Swan Hotel, Wells

"Our room was perfect, the staff were great but I am afraid the dining experience was poor"

On both evenings my food was poor. The duck on the first evening was grey and dull as if it had been cooked earlier on the day. The dauphinoise potato was cooked earlier and not reheated sufficiently so the cream was in lumps. The second night my crispy beef salad was inedible. Cooked too much making it difficult to put my fork into and placed on a cold bed of coldslaw which should have been removed earlier from the fridge.
The beetroot salad starter was good and the mussels start very good. It has left me with a disappointing experience. Staff very friendly in the evening. Not so at breakfast.
