The Swan Hotel, Wells

"Lovely view, disappointing service "

On arrival we were disappointed to find no space in the hotel car park. We had to park in a public car park a short walk away. Not ideal in the rain! We stayed in the Cathedral suite with views over to the cathedral. Spacious suite let down by poor lighting. It could also easily accommodate a super king bed rather than a standard king size. Dinner was satisfactory, breakfast however was a disaster. They ran out of orange juice and pastries and it quickly became apparent that ordering a cooked breakfast would take far too long as several other guests were leaving without being served. We had to make do with toast and coffee. They were obviously having staffing problems. I don’t think we would return.
