"Very disappointing"
First we couldn't eat in the dining room because of a large coach party - we didn't mind too much about that except the lounge, where we were put, was quite cold due to it being near the front door which was left open. However we were not impressed that we had to wait 45 (yes, 45) minutes for our first course. I ordered the roasted vegetable soup which was cold at the edges and didn't taste very nice at all. I left most of it and I think it gave me an unsettled stomach for the next few days. My husband ordered the crab croquettes which he described as tasteless and stodgy - he left most of his.
My main course was 'baked aubergine' - again, very unimpressive. My husband had no complaints about his liver and bacon. The waiting staff, however, were very pleasant and clearly doing their best in difficult circumstances.
