"Lacklustre "

It was expensive at £200 (£300 per night if we had booked on the hotel website) per night for a standard and very basic room. The pillows were lumpy so I asked for them to be changed and additional pillows which was ignored. The drinks selection was limited. For example Jack Daniel’s ran out in the first night and not replenished. Not much choice in terms of cocktail and a reluctance to create favourites that were not listed even though the ingredients were in stock. Sunday lunch was disappointing. Items missing from the menu. The excuse of a temporary chef was used. The lunch itself was tepid and my crackling was jaw braking. After lunch the cup of tea I requested was also tepid and needed stirring as it was one teabag in a large pot. We did speak up and whilst polite, received unhelpful responses. Such a shame as it’s a lovely city. We won’t be staying again.
