"Festive afternoon tea"
The afternoon tea itself was very tasty and plentiful, with lots of lovey cakes and festive touches.
There was a mix-up with the tea when it was brought out, but soon fixed. But we weren’t brought any milk, which my mum had to go and ask for.
When the afternoon tea was brought out, the server didn’t explain what the fillings were in the sandwiches, or what any of the mini cakes and tarts were (they all looked different). It was all a bit of a guessing game. There were lovely little deserts included but we weren’t given any spoons to eat them with, so again my mum had to go and ask. They went to give her desert spoons but they were in miniature glasses, too small for desert spoons. So mum explained and then had to wait whilst 3 teaspoons were washed up for us to use!
One of our party couldn’t make it due to illness and I had called the day before to let them know but when we arrived the message hadn’t been logged and they seemed surprised.
It’s a lovely looking hotel and the food was really
nice but the service wasn’t the best, although the actual servers were very polite.
