"Pleasant stay at The Swan Hotel, Wells"

Friendly staff and pleasant central Wells hotel. Room 36 bathroom needs updating but bedroom area very nice. Lovely quality biscuits/tea/coffee in room and bottled water. Loved the wonky floors upstairs and the age of the property in general.

Only problem was the parking was limited at the pub and having driven three hours and arriving at 7:30pm it would have been nice to have a reserved parking space for guests. There looked like there were spaces in the car park when we arrived, but staff directed us to a town Centre car park (PayByPhone), which was free over night until 9am. In the morning it was a maximum 3hr parking limitation, which was a pain when you wanted a later breakfast and then have time to look around Wells and visit the cathedral. Apparently, the long stay car park is on the top of a multi-storey Waitrose car park we were told.
