The Swan Hotel, Wells

"Restful visit"

We went back after not staying for over a year for a 1 night stay as a birthday getaway. Very busy car park and we had the last space but staff are very helpful in directing guests to alternative parking. We find the Swan is our go to place for a bit of peace and tranquility. The restaurant has been revamped and the menu updated since our last visit. The quality was excellent though some items were no available. Excellent choice of wines.
Our room was directly overlooking the Cathedral so a great outlook in the evening and drinking a cup of coffee in the morning to wake up. Bathroom was clean and tidy but now really needing a bit of extra TLC, such as the loo not flushing properly and not able to turn down heat in bathroom due to loose valves. The complimentary shampoo, conditioner and hand creams are very pleasant. Again we really enjoyed our short stay and a late checkout at 11 was most welcome.
